Sideline Hub (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a mobile app for discovering and organising grassroots football events. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, username, email address, date of birth, phone number (optional), profile photo.
- Event and participation data: events you create, join, or follow; team rosters; match statistics; awards.
- User-generated content: photos, videos, comments, and announcements you upload.
- Identity verification (optional): government-issued ID images you submit voluntarily for verification.
- Device and usage data: device type, OS version, app version, crash logs, anonymous usage analytics.
- Location (with your permission): coarse location used to surface nearby events.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To deliver core app features: event discovery, team management, match stats, notifications.
- To verify your identity when you submit ID for the optional verified badge.
- To send transactional notifications (event reminders, match updates, invites).
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
- To improve the app through anonymous analytics and crash reporting.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With other users: profile fields you mark public, event participation, stats, and media you upload.
- With event organisers: your name, username, and participation status for events you join.
- With service providers: Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, storage, messaging, and analytics; Apple Sign In for authentication.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Edit your profile: update or remove most personal information directly in the app.
- Privacy controls: control profile visibility, search appearance, stats display, and media tagging in Account → Privacy Settings.
- Notifications: manage push notification categories in Account → Notifications.
- Analytics opt-out: disable anonymous analytics in Account → Privacy Settings.
- Delete your account: permanently remove your account and associated data from Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us.
Depending on your location (including the EU, UK, and California), you may have additional rights including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.
5. Children
Sideline Hub is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cloud storage, and access controls. No system is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Transfers
Our service providers (including Google Firebase) may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using Sideline Hub, you consent to such transfers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
